Dennis is a Licensed Professional Counselor. His educational background in mental health started with attaining his Masters in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in 2016. In his student internship, he received experience with psychiatric inpatient treatment, working with patients with severe traumas, and diagnoses such as Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder), Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, as well as anxiety, suicidality, depression, and psychosis.
He also worked as a staff therapist at a residential treatment facility that specialized in treating trauma and underlying addictive behaviors. There, Dennis’s role included conducting client assessments, preparing treatment plans, and performing individual, family, and group therapy. He participated in monthly Family Intensive Weekends there.
Dennis’s passion lies in working with individual, couples, and family counseling to treat unresolved trauma and addictive behaviors. He also is experienced in treating anxiety, depression, career and men’s issues.
He is certified in all levels of Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), and completed the “Trauma Model Certification” training, developed by Colin A. Ross M.D. and Melissa Caldwell Engle, MS, LPC, ATR.
Prior to commencing his work in mental health, Dennis was awarded a B.A. Degree in Japanese Language, and an International MBA. He worked for years as an international business consultant, specializing in the Japanese market. In 1983 he was awarded the highest level of Japanese proficiency, by the Japanese Ministry of Education.
Dennis and his wife Susan make their home in Allen, Texas.
